It can’t be clearer. The questions I am asking attempt to define the difference between the claimed inherent value of each of us as humans and the value we place on each other as individuals. If we don’t realise there is a difference then we will indeed talk past each other.
I understand the distinction. I’m insisting that we maintain the focus on inherent value and unalienable rights, because that’s what’s pertinent to the issue (as I’ve repeatedly said). What you refer to as “the value we place on each other as individuals” is totally irrelevant (as has also been repeatedly said).
So what takes precedence? Our inherent value or our personal value?

It depends on the situation. I would not kill you to provide an organ for my child (even if it was legal), even though my child has more personal value to me, because you have equal inherent value. I would pay whatever I could (and more) for my childs life saving operation while if you needed one I may donate a little, because my child has more personal value to me than you do.

I don’t disagree.
