I’ve read several reports satori that the mind can cause visible wounds on the body. What is your take on this?

Hello, can you provide some quotes. Are these reports from Zen tradition? I had to look up satori and it comes up: Satori and kensho are commonly translated as enlightenment, a word that is also used to translate bodhi, prajna and buddhahood.

Insofar as the mind affecting the body physically, yes, this happens. People can get marks on their skin from being under stress. Also, I heard Bishop Sheen once mention a nun who had been kidnapped (?) and suffered much and after her horrible experience she would sweat blood. I think that is what would happened to her. Bishop Sheen spoke about how much Jesus suffered to have sweat blood.

I can see how the mind can affect the nerves and he nerves affect the skin, and even the sweating of blood, but, for mental anguish or control to make a body have the wounds of Christ - no.

To begin to understand why a saint would have the wounds of Christ would be a better use of time. The spirituality is beautiful, profound and enriching.

Sure.

Such is not new. Spiritual Theology has treated of this for years and years…

One must distinguish between authentic stigmata, that which is caused by non-supernatural sources, and even that which is diabolical.

(one has to be quite rigorous in the investigation…(just as with miracles…)–stigmata is different than wounds which are caused naturally).

i think this is one of the most ridiculous ideas I have ever come across. If this were the case, we would see similar things with other people in regards to other types of wounds and so on, and we do not.

Actually it is a known happening. Spiritual Theology is quite aware that such can happen. It is different from stigmata.
