Still pray even though I sinned?

Should a person still pray even if they sinned? I only went to confession last week and yesterday I had an argument with a sibling which ended in us both getting mad and saying things we regret. I am so annoyed with myself to as I only went to confession a week ago. I feel guilty and I wonder should I continue praying? Will my prayers still be heard even after my argument? I deeply regret losing my temper and my actions.

Yon can ask for forgiveness before sacramental confession. Yes.

1 Thessalonians 5:
17 Pray without ceasing. 18 In all things give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you all.
 
You can pray even if you can’t breathe!

(Actually, that might be the most important time)
 
It doesn’t sound like a mortal sin and I truly believe that you can confess and repent this sin directly to God. I confess known sins, and sins I may not have understood to be a sin at the time, directly to God often and I love yo know that I can turn yo Him and truly FEEL his forgiveness.
 
I don’t think God turns away from us when we sin. Keep on praying.
 
There is no prayer more pleasing to God than that of a contite heart. Keep praying, and go to confession.
 
Of course you can, and should. That’s when prayer is most important.
 
Storm Heaven with your prayers. Especially when we sin. Ask Our Mother to advocate for you.

Hail Mary full of Grace. Blessed are you amongst women, and blessed is the Fruit of Thy Womb Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now, and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have Mercy on me a sinner.

Yes, you should always pray. Start with an act of contrition:

O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended Thee, and I detest all my sins because of Thy just punishments, but most of all because they offend Thee, my God, Who art all-good and deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve, with the help of Thy grace, to sin no more and to avoid the near occasions of sin.
 
Yes, as others have said, you can certainly still pray! The Act of Contrition is a great start as “St. Francis” posted.

I made an appointment with our priest and asked many questions such as the one you asked. He told me that you should pray regardless of whether or not you’re in a state of grace. And that God hears our prayers and Satan will try to convince us that God could never love us or forgive us, etc. We know the truth! God is merciful and always welcomes us back!

I’m at a point where I too, get so mad at myself when I just confessed and I fall again with the same sin or another one! I have a hard time also deciding what is a Venial sin and what is Mortal sin. I often go to confession for Venial sins, but I am constantly falling short of living a life that glorifies God. God commanded us to love Him above all things and to love our neighbour. If what I have done falls short of this, it’s time for Reconciliation. Only you can decide if you need to confess again. I hope our responses have helped! God bless you!

St. Therese the little flower would run to god in prayer knowing and trusting He would forgive and help her. Cling to God. What other hope do we have?

That’s when prayer is most important to healing and repairing that rupture between you and your Beloved.
