Now a days the persecution of christians is on the rise in India particuarly with a view to garner votes of the majority community by hurting the minority when the general elections are near. Now to make matters worsem there is a news item which tells that a bishop has adopted a lady of 26 years of age, which relationship, according to him, is only filial. Even the civil law prohibits such adoptions becuase it is morally wrong, Further a Bishop or Priest is the spiritual father of all the faithful entrusted to his care, He should not be partisan, but should make himself available to all the faithful and those in need, The Bishop or priest is supposed to know the basics of their vocation, Their acts will be tested on the touchstone WHETHER THE ACT HAS BROUGHT HIMSELF OR THOSE ENTRUSTED TO HIS CARE NEARER TO JESUS… In the matter of adoption, If the answer is in the negative he has failed in his duties and should not continue in the post of a Bishop, In India times are coming when it is difficult for Christians to practise and profess their faith, and if the Bishop and Priest is giving room to scandal, the catholic community may even perish, for which those in authority will be responsible before God,.
