Forgive me if the answer to this is posted elsewhere I couldn’t find it and googling for the answer didn’t help.

How do Muslims justify stoning with “let he who is withou sin cast the first stone”
I am trying to gain understanding in order to respect them more.
Thanks

Muslims would consider the Quran (which does not mention stoning) and hadith (which apparently do mention stoning, though Muslim jurists disagree about its use) more authoritative than Christian scriptures.

First of all they aren’t Christian and most have probably never heard Jesus’ words. Why would you think that something Christ said would have any influence on a Muslim? They deny the crucifixion and resurrection and believe the Bible is blasphemous.

I am trying to understand. They believe they worship the god of Abraham and that Jesus was a prophet (I think)
Are the words of Jesus (although misused) not on the Quran?
What Was saying is if they are how do they justify stoning in light of “let he who is without sin”

Those words are not in the Quran, and if they are, they are ignored or overwritten by their “prophet”.

No, Jesus words are not in the Quran. That they can speak of Jesus as a prophet, yet ignore the fact that he claimed to be the Son of God is evidence enough that this claim is not found in their scriptures. They do not possess the Gospel; the good news that Jesus Christ came to save sinners. They have put their own words into his mouth in order to dovetail with their faith tradition. Obviously, it is a lie.

Thank you, I am unaware of what the Quran does and does not say.

I wouldn’t waste your time learning either, it’s the delusional rantings of a sexual pervert and murderer.

I guess I won’t say you shouldn’t learn, it’s good to know so you can refute it, but I wouldn’t take any of it seriously; the man was ten types of crazy.

“let he who is without sin” is NOT in the Quran.

There is a hadith written where Mohamads people bring an adulteress to him and ask him what to do with her.

As this occurred, Mohamad was sitting with some Jews. He asked the Jews what was their ruling on dealing with adulteress or people who engage in fornication.

The Jews didn’t answer him and Mohamad asked them to look into their books, at which point the Jews did and read from the Torah. That’s were he got it from.

I’ll see if I can dig up the hadith from Sahih Bukhari for your review.

I know it is falsehoods. It is my understanding that we should show SOME respect to other religions and this is difficult for me concerning Islam. That is why the curiosity.

Respect means treating others with dignity and compassion. Discussing what a belief and faith may teach and how that lines up with what we believe as Catholics and Christians should be done. If you don’t know much about Islam, I would suggest all and any of Robert Spencer’s books on the subject. He is very well researched, know Arabic (which is the language one is suppose to read the Koran in) and very eye opening. CAF is currently promoting his latest book coming out.

Thank you I will look for those.

Ahhhh - I fount it

Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Umar:
The Jews came to Allah’s Apostle and told him that a man and a woman from amongst them had committed illegal sexual intercourse. Allah’s Apostle said to them, “What do you find in the Torah (Old Testament) about the legal punishment of Ar-Rajm (stoning)?”

They replied, (But) we announce their crime and lash them."

Abdullah bin Salam said, “You are telling a lie; Torah contains the order of Rajm.”

They brought and opened the Torah and one of them placed his hand on the Verse of Rajm and read the verses preceding and following it.

Abdullah bin Salam said to him, “Lift your hand.” When he lifted his hand, the Verse of Rajm was written there.

They said, "Muhammad has told the truth; the Torah has the Verse of Rajm. The Prophet then gave the order that both of them should be stoned to death.

('Abdullah bin 'Umar said, “I saw the man leaning over the woman to shelter her from the stones.” (Sahih Al-Bukhari, Volume 4, Book 56, Number 829)

Thank you for posting this for me! So… They get it from the Tora then.

There are words attributed to Jesus in the Quran, but not these.

I would rather recommend Fr. Jacques Jomier’s books, such as How to Understand Islam, The Bible and the Qur’an, and The Great Themes of the Qur’an. Fr. Jomier was a Dominican; a missionary and theology professor in Egypt, Iraq, Nigeria, and Zaire (now Democratic Republic of the Congo); among the first to provide commentary on modern translations of the Qur’an; and a consultant to the Vatican.

Hmm… Perhaps I will ask the Father at the solitude what books would be best.
