This recounts the very first appearance of the Virgin Mary to Bernadette, and gives the reaction of the parish priest after she told him about it.

This all concerns the repeated appearances of the Virgin Mary to an otherwise very unremarkable 14-year-old girl in 1858 in Lourdes. France. Now there is a great Catholic shrine there where millions go every year.
