Locals were surprised, then, when someone at a cemetery in Pieve di Cento erected black sheets to hide crucifixes on the graves. They were put there so workers would not be offended during renovations.

This did not go unnoticed. in Italy. One national leader said “With the excuse of respect for others, they lack respect for our Catholic culture and our traditions. Now the Left is beyond fanaticism."

Ridiculous but unworthy of outrage. This is what happens when a local board in a dying European town gets stacked with one too many senile people.

Offended? From looking at a crucifix?

I would have given these workers a choice. Either do the job or go home empty -handed.

I wonder what the dead (but alive in Christ) think of having their grave markers covered.
