She was put into prison for apostasy when she left the Muslim religion to become a Christian.

She was able to get a Bible, which she got into prison through bribing a guardian. "Her fellow inmate hid it for her, taking a terrible risk, and was astonished to see the importance that this book had in the eyes of Meriam. ‘This is my Bible,’ explained Meriam. ‘It is because of this book that I am in prison.’”

(Sudan is a country in north Africa which is 97% Muslim. The legal system of Sudan is based on Islamic shiria law, under which someone who apostatizies from the Muslim religion is to be put to death.)

This is an actual Stand for Christ–followed by a marvelous demonstration of Love as one woman risks her own life to share her Love of God and respect for another woman Created in the Likeness and Image of God.

Allah bless both these women of God.

I am sure Allah is very pleased with the actions of both of these Godly women.
