It’s a comfort to remind yourself that we’d be persecuted for following Jesus. Tthis woman did, and may she RIP.

There is the story of the Catholic church in Slabodo Rashkovo. In the 70s the Catholics in the area built a small church. The next year the Soviet army sent tanks in to destroy the church. They bulldozed over the church. The Blessed Sacrament was desecrated. But over where the altar had stood there was a light. It burned in good weather and bad, snow and rain. It reminded the people that God is real and He is present in the Blessed Sacrament.

Dear poche,

Thanks so very much for posting this article. I read the article and sent the link to my husband who is working at his computer as I work on mine; our desks are side by side. He was also blessed by it. Also sent it to my sister-in-law who belongs to the Legion of Mary as I do.

God willing I want to send it to all the Active and Auxiliary members of our “Queen of Peace Praesidium” in the parish. Are you familiar at all with the Legion of Mary? It is the largest Lay Apostolate in the world - currently in almost every country after beginning with a small group of parishioners and their parish priest in 1921. If you or others reading this thread would like to learn more, you can read from the Legion of Mary’s official website HERE

Thanks for your reply, I am so grateful for God’s grace inspiring the Servant of God Frank Duff to continue reading St. Louis De Montfort’s treatise on “True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin” until in his own words he said : “This is True”.

If you and/or others reading this thread have never read Frank Duff’s initial “difficulties” in reading De Montfort, It is worth reading HERE . It was after this that he and a small group met with their parish priest and prayed to the Holy Spirit and then prayed the Rosary for guidance in how to live their Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary, that the Legion of Mary was “born”, Sept. 7, 1921.

Every Legion meeting since begins with prayer to the Holy Spirit and the Rosary! 🙂 I believe there are martyrs in heaven unknown to us who are Legion Members praying with us and for us now.
