That’s so sad…but also uplifting…they had just been to mass to receive the body and blood of our savior…and in the next few minutes they both stood before him in all his glory…

Wow. Praying for your loss. And thank you for the beautiful memory.

Praying for the repose of their souls & for the family. A very similar story happened here last Christmas. A couple crossing the street to go into the Church’s Christmas Vigil Mass was struck & killed.

May they rest in peace in the loving arms of Jesus!

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

“My parents were killed–holding hands–crossing the street leaving church tonight. I cannot imagine a more perfect way for 2 devout Christians to pass away than that.”

I don’t see it as perfect at all. I would be willing to bet that in 90% of the cases where a spouse dies, the vast majority of prayers said for his/her soul are said by the surviving spouse. Its seems unfortunate that neither one of these two will have that occurring for them.

I think the fact they were married for 50 years is a beautiful love story. The fact they died at the same moment is unfortunate. I certainly don’t see anything romantic in it.

Well, that, and I don’t see anything romantic about being killed in a bloody car accident and dying in pain on the side of the road, knowing the love of my life is also suffering. No thanks.
