This miracle, since approved by the Catholic Church, is the miracle that allowed Pope John Paul II to be canonized in 2014.

‘According to Floribeth Mora Diaz, she was told by doctors in May 2011 that her condition meant she only had days to live. After receiving the news while praying to John Paul II in her small bedroom she heard him say: “Rise! Don’t be afraid.’

A tearful Mora said that after she finished praying she got up from her bed, prompting her husband to ask her, “My love, what are you doing here?”. Mora says she told her husband: “I feel better”.

After this, her brain aneurysm completely disappeared.

I’m assuming that there must have been more to it than simply a possible spontaneous healing or the Vatican wouldn’t have supported this incident as a miracle. These things are thoroughly investigated after all in order to maintain the integrity and value of the title Saint.

People always say that but there are no actual scientific papers released in association with recognition of these ‘miracles’. They are incredibly unimpressive to anyone not predisposed to believe in them.
 
Perhaps, but let’s face it, anything is unimpressive to someone not predisposed to it.

Not at all. When science found that stomach ulcers were typically caused not by stress but by a bacteria I was certainly not predisposed to it, but found the scientific work most impressive, as was the finding.
 
Not how I expected this thread to go; I like the one about St. Charbel and the woman regaining her eyesight!
 
Well, if you read the article you will find that the doctor is less than specific about saying it was a miracle. Is something ‘not easily explicable’ miraculous?

Could this treatment not have been the cause of her recuperation?

Well, that an aneurysm of this size… is not something that is easily explicable from a medical point of view. That’s why it’s curious that, suddenly, after a matter of months, the study which we performed on her showed a normal magnetic resonance
