Your link desribes Athaliah as “ the only woman who reigned over one of the Hebrew kingdoms in her own name.” But is that strictly true? I don’t think so. There was a later queen who ruled in the Hasmonean period. When Alexander Jannaeus died in 76 BC the throne passed to his widow, Salome Alexandra, who reigned for nine years until her death in 67.
