“Jesus Christ Superstar” was a prominent musical in 1970. It sold more than 12 million albums. The lead actor, whose story is given in the article linked above, appeared on the cover of “Time” magazine. This musical was controversial because it gave a free adaption of Jesus, showing as him as human only, and for its sympathetic portrayal of Judas. In 1973 it was made into a movie that became popular.
 
Beautiful courage when he goes downstairs praying, “If they kill me, remember I died trying to find You!”

I also loved this line: “You know what the difference between a praying grandma and a pit bull is? Lipstick.”
 
Wow. Not surprised that Manson was under a certain possession. I can’t imagine what it is like to be in its presence.
