I am a big west coast hip hop fan. Unfortunately, I have no west coast hip hop songs on my play list except Mack 10’s.

I drove through Compton couple times when I used to live in Southern Cali. It’s funny that black people complain about the lack of fried chicken stalls and increase of taco stands there. Compton is really changing demographically.

Its not the same as it was back in the 90s, but the activity is still the same, just the ‘turfs’ that change and who controls them.

Nowadays its the mexican drug cartels that likely control south central. I have friends that have lived in LA, the told me it is dangerous for ANYONE if they make a wrong turn in some areas of south central, and drive down the ‘wrong’ street, some gangs will shoot people for just driving down their street, makes no difference if they are gang members or not.

I seen the movie last night and knew it wasn’t going to be my sort of thing but watched it anyway. I quite liked the music but their lifestyle’s and lack of morality (Respect for others and their minds still in the ghetto) looked pathetic to me. Did anyone read DR Dre’s letter to his girlfriend about shooting his music video California love where he came across some hippies preparing for the burning man festival. He was talking about how he could make easy money off those fools and is the reason it is now a ticket event. People were saying how awesome he was for this letter etc. It any venture capitalist wrote the same type of letter they would be heavily criticized as a blood sucking greedy scumbag. I also will never understand that when they rap about women as if they are object’s where they talk down about them sexually that women will hear these lyrics and dance to it. I just see it as dopey Yanks to be honest
