Although it has been 24 years since my mom passed away and 29 since my dad passed away I think of them every day. I seldom dream about them. When I have over the last year they are nothing more than black figures. No face no nothing. This is distirbing to me but I can’t afford to run out and get a shrink. Would chalk it up to just a strange dream or something more?

Maybe you just need to pray for them. They may need some mass said for them, offer up your sufferings for them. It is very important that we don’t forget to keep praying for our dearly departed. I will also pray for them. What are their names.

I agree, sounds like maybe they want out of purgatory. Have masses said, pray your daily rosary for them, go to adoration, …
Also, try going through some old photo albums and reminisce. That may freshen your memories of them and stir up your feelings for them and help you focus more in your prayers for them.

Thank you I will start doing that. Their names are Dianne and Pete.:signofcross:

Igator… you might try the prayer of St. Gertrude… with a special emphasis on your dear parents. Our Lord promised St. Gertrude that 1,000 souls would be released from Purgatory each time the prayer is said. It goes like this:

“Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus… in union with the Masses said throughout the world today… for all the Holy Souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the Universal Church, those in my own home and within my family. Amen.”

I will include Dianne and Pete in my prayers. Please pray for my father, Russell. Thanks. God bless you.
