Okay… but you are proving too much. Catholicism was also imposted by governments in France, Spain, Belgium, etc. All of said countries are now, largely, amoral, socialist, and secular countries. Does that mean that it follows that Roman Catholicism changed because those countries changed? You won’t get any argument from me about the condition of those nations. However, it’s relevance to Calvinism? Zero.

Nations that were Reformed in their worldview degenerate because people degenerate. Sin nature, and such.

I’m guessing you’ve missed the hand-wringing over Mary Tudor’s brutal implementation of the Counter-Reformation in England.

At any rate, nobody’s hands are completely clean. Mary burned Protestants for heresy, and Elizabeth hanged Catholics for treason.

Well Hart doesn’t attempt to present one side as morally superior to the other. I thought they were all sleazebags – surprised they spent any time reading the Gospel, to tell you the truth – and that’s with my 21st century eyes, thank you. I really don’t subscribe to historical relativism.
