Strangest Question

In my humanities class today, we were discussing God in groups, and it inevitably turns to people asking me about the Church…

Anyone, one girl had the strangest question I had ever been asked…and I had no idea what to say. I was laughing about it afterwards, but I wonder if you can help me decipher what she could have been talking about.

She said:

“This guy told me about this thing, like, an apparition, where the Virgin Mary locked 7 girls in a cave, and is going to let them out in 2012 or something…”

I had no idea what this could even be a distortion of. Some kids brought up the Mayan calendar cycle restarting in 2012…but that didnt seem to be what she was talking about.

Sounds like a strange mix of medgujorie, a horror film, the mayan thing, and bad memory…

I had no idea what this could be referring to. Do you have any idea? I’ll try to find out what guy it was and ask him directly what he was telling her about…but do you have any idea what this could refer to?
 
That’s about the weirdest thing I’ve heard in a long time.
 
That’s a doozie – never heard of that! I wonder if she’s alluding to an unapproved apparition? I’m familiar with some of the more famous unapproved apparitions, and I don’t remember any of them mentioning girls being locked in a cave.
 
You should have joked and said “Oh, she let you out? Where are the other six?”

Certainly seems bizarre … sounds like someone’s mixed up some other myth or story with an apparition (or alleged apparition) of the Virgin.
 
Wow! That is a good one…sounds like a mixed up horror story/Protestant rant/ Apparition/urban legend thing to me too. I would love to see where that came from…
 
I think she is mixing up a few things unfortunely I can not remember them well enough to straighten any one out! One is the Mayan calendar does schedule the earth to cycle again in 2012 so that is an end of the world scenario. The other was an apparition writing which was opened in 1962(?) which had been sealed in the Vatican for many years. Conspiracy theorist thought the letter would surely instruct us on the immediate end of the world. The third part was an apparition of a group of children. So I guess I have a lot in common with this girl :confused:
 
She wasn’t talking to you about an apparaition. She’s makin a script for the next Hannibal movie… Ehehe!

Now seriously… what she said was soooooo strange!

No, it sound like that new horror flick sequel that’s coming out in the next couple of week, maybe Friday. Some girls had locked another girl in a closet in this mansion and she comes back to haunt them or something. I’m probably way off base; I can’t remember the name of it… 😛

Come on people…none of you have ever heard of “Our Lady of the keeper of young girls in a cave”
