I looked a few pages back and haven’t seen a thread for this. There was was for specifically catholic movies.

So far we have enjoyed in no particular order

walking Dead
Doc Martin…slow at first but enjoyable. Also it’s a “clean” show Brittish
Touching Evil …Brittish crime thriller
Sherlock
Trailer Park Boys…Canadian, not for families, quite funny
Shameless…another Brittish show, not for families either
North and South… again Brittish historical takes place during industrial revolution loved this
Downton Abbey
Just discovered Bramwell, takes place during Victorian England about a female doctor. Watched two episodes they are good. Opening scene slightly shocking. Spoiler alert. Starts in a medical school where a doctor is taking out a woman’s ovaries because she just had a baby and seems depressed.

When I search for a movie on Netflix, it is almost NEVER available instantly. But it is GREAT for TV shows! I love love LOOOOVVVVVEEEEEE “The Vampire Diaries.” It is currently in season 4 so I have 3 glorious seasons to watch (just started season 3.) I’ve been watching about 3 episodes just about every night for weeks now, I think about it multiple times a day like, “omg I can’t wait to go home and watch it!” 🍿❤️ It’s soooo suspenseful so I love how I don’t have to wait a week for each episode.

Next I think I’m going to watch “Supernatural.” There’s no way it’ll be as good as Vampire Diaries though! The premise! The actors! The characters! The chemistry! The special effects! The script! The STORY omg the story. Every 2 minutes I’m either gasping, cringing, laughing or clapping my hands in delight. Mostly gasping. I grab my roommate’s arm and I’m like OMG DID YOU SEE THAT?!

I’m not really sure why there are very non-Catholic shows being promoted here. Some are innocent, but I don’t care if you’re a child or adult, shows like “shameless” promote and show very inappropriate content, contrary to the Catholic teachings.

It’s sad to see some of these being promoted on a Catholic forums…

My favorite TV shows on Netflix instant streaming:

Walking Dead
Psych
Monk
Burn Notice
Scrubs
Twilight Zone
Poirot
Hercules
Switched At Birth
The Office
Freaks and Geeks
Supernatural
Star Trek: TNG
Murder, She Wrote
Malcom in the Middle
My Name is Earl
The Wonder Years
Saved by the Bell
The Guild
The League
Family Ties

Yep, that about sums it up!

Never saw Malcolm in the Middle on Netflix! Will have to look for that.

I watched the original version of True Grit, starring John Wayne, the other night.

There are Catholic movies on Netflix.

Saint John of the Cross

Therese

Maximilian: Saint of Auschwitz

Monsieur Vincent

Into Great Silence (it is pretty quiet movie and sometimes I think it stops until the monk moves. It is the one about the Carthusian monks.)

That is just to name a few . . .

I noticed lots of Christian themed movies, not necessarily Catholic I will have to look in to.
