Hello fellow Catholic Answers Forums users!

I am in great need of help in the form of prayers. I am a senior in high school, and next year I plan to go off to college. I used to be extremely excited by this prospect. Lately, though, I spend my days with a constant weight on my chest of stress, and I fear I cannot deal with this stress much longer. I have a grave, dooming fear for the cost of college with an equal fear of choosing which path to go down when it comes to choosing a major. I need to know which path God intends me to go down, and I need consolation for this painful fear of the debt I am about to put myself in. I cannot explain the pain this is causing me, and as I said, I fear I cannot handle it much longer.

I thank you for the prayers and am sorry to bother you all with my troubles. I have been praying on this issue myself, but I believe the more prayers the better off I shall be. Thank you again.

See a guidance counselor. He can explain your financial aid, work study, loan options.
You do not have to declare a major right away. You can start by taking electives. Everyone needs English, Science and Math. The subjects that interest and excite you the most are probably God’s will for your major.
 
Eternal God , in whom mercy is endless,
and the treasury of compassion inexhastible ,
look kindly upon us and increase Your mercy in us ,
that in difficult moments we might not despair
nor become despondent , but with great confidence ,
submit ourselves to Your Holy Will ,

O Lady of Mental Peace,
Mother of Tranquility

look upon ConfirmedAgnes in this time
of weakness and unrest.

Teach her searching heart
to know that God’s Love
for her is unchanging and

true human love can only
begin and grow by touching
His Love.

Let your gentle Peace -
which this world cannot give
  • be always with her.
    And, help her to bring this
    same Peace into the lives

I am so sorry you are having so much pain thnking of your future plans. They are difficult…but we all have been there. (we understand) So tonight I pray that you are abe to have HIS peace and guidance throughout this transition.
