Oddly enough- I’ve never done well with alcohol. It upsets my stomach, even if I only drink a little and it makes me sleepy. I never experienced the relaxation or fun others talk of. It just makes me sick. I don’t know why!! Sad because I love the taste of mimosa!

Making mental note to invite Irishmom2 over when she is stressed. What are friends for?

Great! I’ve got a laundry basket (or two) that needs folding. I’ve got shortbread and I’ll put on some coffee! Unless coffee is too stressing, then I’ve got an unopened bottle of Amaretto.

Mmm! I will have some of everything. Folding laundry is therapeutic, isn’t it? I actually don’t mind doing that.

O man, the memories. “Days of Future Past”, “On the Threshold of a Dream” back when I was young.

Indulge yourself in a Moodyrrific day on YouTube. Lots of videos. I’ve had them on since 2am. Even had a good (unexpected) cry listening to Ray’s songs.

Walking, bicycling. If that doesn’t work, I may be tired enough to sleep.

Exercise. Eat right. Sleep. Also I am finding that controlling your reaction to the situation, as opposed to controlling the situation itself, is key. Pray - literally give it over to God. A lot of times I make it worse by getting too emotionally and mentally involved - shut down your response to it - like a light switch off, on. Learning to do this is one of the best things you can do in your life. Doesn’t always work but it usually does. Try it on a traffic jam. Then on a high electric bill. Then on politics. 🙂 And build from there. You’ll be levitating in no time!

You are so right. Surrender when things are beyond your control or influence. So much of our suffering and anxiety is related to our attachments and hanging on. Of course this detachment is easier to talk about than actually do. But if you can, there is sure peace to follow. I think that is the freedom Jesus talked about.

Thanks. I had not seen that. He was born for music. I so remember early 1970’s. He was young and I was younger. Now he is near 80, I think.
