Stressed about date

Ug I am so stressed about homecoming this year at my Catholic highschool.
Another devout faithful chaste Catholic girl agreed to go with me…
So that is good. But Im still unreasonably stressed. Im stressed because ive NEVER gone to any dance previously, no idea how to partner dance, and i have NEVER gone on any sort of date or anything like that. So this is light years out of comfort zone. The asking of her to go with me also struggled with worry, miscommunication, and anxiety about being awkward or rude. And I wont go into detail about that but i have a feeling she is also stressed about that. She sounded stressed. So pray for her too…
umm ya thats it. I tried praying for myself, it only helps a little. But, I guess if more people prayed maybe i will calm down. Thanks,

Just try to be a friend at this point, and that should take some pressure off.
 
It is very normal to feel uneasy about something outside your “comfort zone”. Be grateful that our Lord allowed you to take step one…now trust Him for the rest. Take your eyes off yourself and look at Him. Ask and trust that He blesses all you say, think or do on this first date and thank Him. Then take “baby steps”…one step at a time…remember, eyes on Jesus (not yourself…remember what happened to Peter in the boat when he walked on water…) who is able to give you confidence as you place trust in Him.

You would probably be shocked at how many of your friends feel the same way, they just won’t admit it. The partner dancing is always awkward at first but if you could practice a little ahead of time it might make it more enjoyable. Your parents or hers could probable teach you some simple steps and if not there may be an older brother or sister. Try to relax and count on my prayers for you both.

Yeah, if you can practice, that would be helpful.

Most places today do freestyle dancing, now, anyway. Very few do ballroom type dancing that require practice.

Even so, just tell your date, “Hey, you know, I’ve never done this before!”
