I currently use the Creighton Model for NFP. I have a 2 year old and a 9 month old. I am no longer nursing. I see stretchy mucus every day. According to my observations, I’m technically fertile everyday. I have no idea what days would be safe to have sex if we are trying to avoid at this time. Does anybody else have this issue? What do you do?

what do you do

sorry I don’t have sex so haven’t a clue what you’re talking about 😊

but if I was you I basically wouldn’t bother with any of that kind of plan and let nature takes it cause and if you are lucky and receive then rejoice. If nothing appears then rejoice in that you are not tied down to scientifical methods. Really, they only help you feel like you are achieving something and it cannot overrule nature. There is more to life than whether you are ready to concieve. The happiest way forward is to make love because you both love each other and rejoice in another if another comes along. If not, rejoice in the happiness of the child you do have and not get stressed about wants. Remember the story of Ruth in the Old testament. If you don’t know it, then give it a read through. You have a child, rejoice in that child and let nature takes its cause. That is what I would do

peace be with you 👍

You should talk to your teacher about it. It sounds like you might be seeing seminal or arousal fluid and not mucus. They look alot alike and at first, I was surprised to find how long the former stuck around for if I didn’t do the fluid removal correctly after intercourse. Amazingly, it can still be there for two days afterward. Anyway, that’s the problem I had at first and you should probably talk to your instructor about it since she would know more specifics about your cycle. It is probably impossible that it actually IS peak cervical mucus that you are seeing your entire cycle. However, some ladies really do produce exceptional amounts of muscus throughout their cycles and they have special stickers for those situations. Your teacher can help you with that. Another option if you still are experiencing confusion is to try another method. Perhaps one of the ones that go off for thermal readings might work better for you.

I suggest talking to an instructor as well. How long has it been since your cycles returned? I was still nursing but when my cycles returned 15 months postpartum I had fertile looking mucus everyday too. We use sympto-thermal and the first cycle was actually anovulatory based on temp data. The second cycle, still lots of mucus but it started changing in quality. We got pregnant that cycle though so I’m not sure what other changes I might have seen if I hadn’t gotten pregnant. 🙂

Since you admit that you don’t know what she’s talking about, you may want to refrain from giving such bad advice. What the OP is talking about are symptoms of fertility, and could be symptoms of some health conditions. This is Creighton model-- is tracking for health purposes. In my opinion ALL women should be charting their cycle for their health. I’m single and I have been charting for 11 years for my health-- -and Thank God becasue I’ve found issues that could have been serious problems, only by charting.

It isn’t only “to help you feel like you’re achieving something”. That is insulting.

OP-- This is not medical advice, I’m just pointing you to the book: This could be a symptom of something else— perhaps cervical eversion (you can find this in the creighton book). Definitely talk to your instructor and they can teach you the “point of change”-- when its just normal daily cm, and when its fertile. You can learn to distinguish, and use yellow stickers. If needed, there is a procedure that helps fix the issue too if its what I had.

There are also women with serious health reasons for avoiding so while they may rejoice at another pregnancy even if it is unplanned and God’s gift it may come with serious risks to both mother and baby.

I would talk to your instructor. In the meantime, pay attention to sensation. When you wipe, do you feel dry? Or do you feel moist every time you are seeing this CM? In a normal cycle, you will notice that you feel dry when you wipe during the infertile times, even if you are seeing stretchy mucus. Stretchy mucus can be infertile. If it appears more like egg whites and you feel moist when you wipe, you are probably nearing ovulation and experiencing that peak-type mucus. It’s common to have longer mucus patches when first returning to fertility, but pay attention to the sensation. You also might want to look into the Marquette method. My youngest baby is almost one (on my 3rd cycle) and I’ve been using it and like it. I still chart STM too, and I’m thinking about taking Creighton classes for various reasons Good luck! And talk to an instructor.

If you don’t know what you are talking about, why are you talking about it? Nothing about the Creighton model prevents nature from taking its course.

Call your instructor to discuss post partem charting.

If you need to move to yellow stickers, you will want an instructor working wth you.

Please be careful when crossing methods. Creighton uses different vocabulary, and this particular item you are advising on is extremely nuanced, and different in creighton. Somuch so that it could give the OPPOSITE evaluation of fertile time. .

Yes, I know. I actually wondered if someone might point that out to me. 🙂 That is why I told her to talk to her instructor. I think I said it twice. 😉

I have the same issue. The counselor I talk to said that is a clear sign of PCOS. PM me if you want further details.

Thanks for the advice. Meeting with my instructor this week to discuss possibility of it being health related and for further instruction on yellow stamps. Thanks again!
