Please say a prayer for my friend, Joanne. She had a stroke, and it was discovered she has diabetes. Pray she will recover fully and be able to live independently once she is able to leave the hospital. And also, please pray for her state of mind. Her emotions are bringing her very low.

Thank you all in advance, and God bless.

For these intentions, Servant of God John Paul II I ask for your intercession.

For your prayer request:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

God Bless You

My prayers are with you both. Talk about a double whammy, Joanne having a stroke and then finding out she has diabetes. I am a stroke survivor myself so I know just how hard of a time she is going to have. I also am only now (13 yrs after the stroke itself) starting to deal with the aftermath and know first hand what she must be feeling right now. My former priest a couple of years ago found out he had diabetes (as well virtually his whole family) and his dad (Doug) just recently had a stroke himself, and my priest-friend is having a hard time himself with this so close to home, so I ask you to pray for him and his family. You will find that this will bring you and your friend closer than ever. Of course, I’ll pray for her, but for you as well. Take care of yourself more than anything. She needs your strength more than ever now.

Thank you all so much. I said a prayer for all of your intentions in thanksgiving for yours.

And Chantal, thank you for your words. They are a comfort. I have to be a strength to my friend long-distance, too. She lives several states away from me, so it’s hard. Phone calls and notes have to suffice. She has some other issues in her life, and maybe God let this happen to slow her down and bring her closer to Him again.

I will definitely pray for your priest friend and his family, and for you. I know many people with diabetes, and while it can be controlled, it can also be very difficult.
