The deacon gave a strong homily against abortion today. Except for the homilies, my parish is a generally traditional. It was a refreshing change from the bland non-confrontational food we normally get.

Weāre next after demolitionmanCan we have him come to our church?![]()
Sounds like what happened at my parish, and it was one of the deacons, too. The pastor had to tell him to tone it down, not go there anymore. Unfortunately the few people who got angry are the ones who are the biggest donorsā¦so the other 20 people who liked it didnāt count for much. I didnāt know all this until the deaconās wife told meāI must have missed that MassMy husband gave a homily on the importance of standing up for a culture of life the Sunday right before the elections. As part of the homily he told the story of our daughter whom the doctors advised me to abort because she was going to be born so mentally and physically handicapped. Today, our daughter is pursuing her Ph.D. in molecular biology at an ivy league university - shows you how much some people knowOne person stormed out of the church and sent our pastor an email asking him to speak to that āmisguidedā man. Another lady talked venomously with him on her way out of the church. Aside from those two at least 50 people came up to him and thanked him for preaching that homily. :yup:
