Washington, DC – A new study finds that Catholic college have moved so far afield from the pro-life teachings of the Catholic Church that they are having little effect on how students view abortions. The Cardinal Newman Society says the study shows Catholic universities need to get back to teaching the basics of the faith.

Such a bedrock belief is likely to be formed well before college age.

God Bless

The Catholic Church as a whole, not just its universities, is not teaching us the true moral gravity of abortion. We can see this based upon how Catholics voted in the U.S. elections on November 4.

I am very encouraged that the Church is teaching, very unequivocally, that any evil is unacceptable, no matter how much “perceived good” may come from it.

Unfortunately, most of our “Catholic Universities” are run by people interested in making a profit, not in teaching Jesus’ Truth.

Abortion is always evil. Killing an innocent baby is always evil.

No justification, no moral relativism, no social good can ever be justified by doing any evil, especially by killing an innocent baby.

While some people can disregard facts like 48 million innocent babies murdered by their mothers and fathers through abortion in the US and 1 billion worldwide since 1972, the overriding truth is the fact that once you justify an evil for a “greater good” anything is possible for a “greater good.”

Who decides what is the greater good?

The health of the mother? She has other children to care for and no money? The government can’t afford to pay for all those unwanted kids?

Look at your children, your brothers and sisters, your friends, your parents. What if they had been aborted? Where would you be today?

I was born with club foot. I had to wear braces on my legs when I was young. Today, many parents would abort me because I was not (and still am not) perfect.

Each baby is a gift from God, even if they are imperfect, handicapped or have no chance at a normal life. DO NOT REJECT GOD’S GIFT TO YOU!

We are so arrogant, so self-centered, so short sighted.

It can never be our “choice” to murder an innocent baby, no matter what we think.

“If any man would come after me, LET HIM DENY HIMSELF and take up his cross daily and follow me” Lk 9:23.

I go to a Catholic University.

Let’s review:

Gay Straight Alliance. Amnesty International. Both extreme liberal organizations, both very pro-choice and pro-gay. In fact most members on Amnesty International are in gay-straight alliance.

They almost disbanded the pro-life group on campus. They won’t allow some of us Catholics to form our own conservative Catholic group because it would exclude protestants and our beliefs fall too in-line with the Church’s teachings on moral issues. Our Father at the Church voted for Obama and encouraged all of us to vote for Obama. Abortion is not even mentioned in my Christian Theology class or even mentioned at all on campus, even though abortion is the most important moral issue to most Catholics of today.

There are aspects of my school I do like, like being able to connect with people of like-faith. I am not Catholic yet, I am taking RCIA but I call myself Catholic because I decided months ago that I accept everything the Church teaches and I love the faith and I love how they represent God.

It’s nice to see a post like this when I felt like I was alone.
I am not in college, I am a mom to a little Kindergarten age child.
But, I see even at her young age being exposed to very odd and unorthodox “catholic” views.
Please don’t let anyone get you off the path Jesus sent you on, over the actions of those who don’t … know what they do.
