I was thinking, how could I answer this? I’m far from able, I have neither the years nor the experience in suffering to really relate to you on a direct level. I have just prayed for you and your daughter, and I will do my best to keep these intentions in my prayers.

I can’t wait. Hope in the Lord, he will heal us and our wounds. May God bless you. Come, Lord Jesus!

You may be young but you speak much like a very wise person.

I know … I do trust in him … because I wouldn’t be able to get up without my faith … I can’t even imagine going through this without faith …

Thank you too, for reaching out … lonliness is my life now … although I have wonderful and loving people around me … I am so lonely without my McKayla.

Dearest Moe,
I am praying for you every day. I burned a candle in church for your family. I am lifting you up to God in my prayers. You will make it through this nightmare. It is too soon for you to see that, though. Offer your sufferings up to Jesus, and hold to His hand, which I know you are already doing. I know the pain is intolerable. How will you make it through? With the help of God and with those of us actively praying for you. “Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.” Do things for yourself every day. Read the books people suggest. Hold to Amanda and Greg. Keep going to Mass. Say the rosary or the Chaplet of Divine Mercy daily.
I had an extremely traumatic episode three years ago (not as bad as yours) and ended up having a nervous breakdown with reactive psychosis. I would see and hear things that weren’t there. The doctors gave me a 50% chance of recovery. I held to the hand of God, I clung to the feet of Jesus, and by His grace, I made it through. Today I have recovered and am working again and taking care of my family. Part of my recovery was sheer will power ( “I WILL get better, I WILL not allow this to dominate my life forever!”).
You WILL make it through this darkest hour of your life. I promise. I’ve seen it happen with some of my friends who have lost a child. One of my friends lost TWO children. She has made it through with the grace of God.
You are walking now through the valley of the shadow of death, like it says in the Twenty-Third Psalm. But remember how the psalm ends: “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”
I don’t know if my words here help. I pray as I write that I am giving you something of substance. Just know that I am suffering with you…“When one member suffers, all suffer together…”
You are in my heart and prayers and I will keep praying for you and your family.
Love,
Lissa

O Lord who watches over children in the present life and in the world to come because of their simplicity and innocence of mind, abundantly satisfying them with a place in Abraham’s bosom, bringing them to live in radiantly shining places where the spirits of the righteous dwell: receive in peace the souls of Your beautiful children metioned here, for You Yourself have said, “Let the little children come to Me, for such is the Kingdom of Heaven.”

For the parents O God, our help in time of need, Who are just and merciful, and Who inclines to the supplications of His people. Look down upon them and have mercy on them and deliver them from the grief that now besets their family. Deal with us not according to our iniquities, but according to Your manifold mercies, for we are the works of Your hands, and You know our weaknesses. I pray to you to grant them Your divine helping grace, and endow them with patience and strength to endure the hardships with complete submission to Your Will. Only You know their misery and sufferings, and to You, our only hope and refuge, they flee for relief and comfort, trusting in Your infinite love and compassion, that in due time, when You know best, You will deliver them, and turn the distress into comfort. We then shall rejoice in Your mercy, and exalt and praise Your Holy Name, O Father, Son and Holy Spirit, both now and forever and to the ages of ages. Amen

Wisdom 4:
7 But the just man, though he die early, shall be at rest. 8 For the age that is honorable comes not with the passing of time, nor can it be measured in terms of years. 9 Rather, understanding is the hoary crown for men, and an unsullied life, the attainment of old age. 10 He who pleased God was loved; he who lived among sinners was transported-- 11 Snatched away, lest wickedness pervert his mind or deceit beguile his soul; 12 For the witchery of paltry things obscures what is right and the whirl of desire transforms the innocent mind. 13 Having become perfect in a short while, he reached the fullness of a long career; 14 for his soul was pleasing to the LORD, therefore he sped him out of the midst of wickedness. MAY THE PEACE OF CHRIST BE UPON YOU ALL!

To start off, I will offer my prayers for you and your family in this awful time. I could not even begin to imagine the pain as I have never felt such tragedy for my own, but as a nurse I’ve seen it time and again and it breaks my heart to see how much people suffer everyday. It is incredible the sorrow some people bear…

I will pray for you and may God fill you with hope once more…and remember, she is being well taken care of by our Lord, trust in him 🙂

Hi Moe,

I hesitate, when I post to say very much because I have no idea the depth of pain you are feeling. As a mother of four I can only imagine, and it has always been my greatest fear. As you have mentioned no one knows however what that kind of pain really feels like untill one is truly experiencing it.

I have had other Deaths of people very close to me that have caused me great pain and other trials also. Like you the only way I have gotten through any of those has been because of My Faith and knowing that God loves me!

Sometime when the pain is so great it is not so easy to feel God’s love, those are the times however when he is the closest to us. He knows how much you and Greg loved KK , he knows the pain you are in. I know from my own life he has brought many great Graces and goodness from sadness and tragedies,

He loves you, Greg and Amanda very much I know he is walking with you all,and has you wrapped in his arms. I continue to pray for all of you… Especially asking Our Blessed Mother to keep you all in her prayers!:gopray2:

We have been told just recently that the nurses and the doctors and the EMT’s who worked on our beautiful girl, are still trying to recover … could this be a true statement???

I will pray for you and may God fill you with hope once more…and remember, she is being well taken care of by our Lord, trust in him 🙂

**THANK YOU SO MUCH - I KNOW SHE NEEDS FOR NOTHING AND WE WHO ARE LEFT ON EARTH ARE THE ONES WHO HAVE TO TRY AND CONTINUE LIFE. LIFE IS SO SAD RIGHT NOW … THERE IS NO HOPE IN OUR LIVES … WE CAN’T GET EXCITED ABOUT ANYTHING … LIFE IS JUST SO SAD.

THANK YOU FOR REACHING OUT …/**QUOTE]

**Thank you - I cry as I read your posts … I do’t understand taht he is closest to us now because the sadness is so great - and what Father would want his children to be in such despair … it is just so sad and we miss her … i visit her at least once a day sometimes as much as 3x …

Thank you for you post … truly … it has given me something to think of!**

Hello,

I just found your post about your daughter. I could not refrain from posting to you. Eleven years ago, our son died. He was 24 years old. The pain was so great, the despair so heavy that I didn’t think I could survive long if I were going to feel that way. Though so much time has passed and I still cry at times (like now), I want you to know that the pain and grief do ease up. It is as though God just solftens the edges so they don’t stab you in the heart so badly. I usually keep the emotions tucked away–like in a special secret pocket–so that I can continue living and enjoying the life God has given. But every now and then, they spill out or I take them out to visit. Just reading your post was a choice to take them out and to feel the sorrow all over again. But that’s okay now, because it’s a choice. It doesn’t cripple me as it did at first.

I just want you to know that it does get better–and I don’t mean to belittle what you’re feeling. I have been there and I just want to encourage you. It sounds like you are doing well. There is a group called Compassionate Friends that is for parents who have lost a child. They have chapters all over the country and have some wonderful publications. One book “Into the Valley and Out Again” was particularly helpful for us. The father who wrote it describes his own five year long journey back out of the valley of the shadow of death. Five years is about how long it took us, too.

May God and His people contunue to bless you and to strengthen and encourage you as you walk through the valley and out again.

Love from one of “The Company of Mourners” (another book to read)

Yes, very much so…they offer PTSD services to healthcare workers b/c sometimes a particular case is so sad and heartbreaking it is traumatic to those who were involved in the care of the patient. It’s seen more often with people who work with children so I could definitely see why maybe those healthcare workers might still be recovering themselves. Pray for hope because despair is dangerous and the work of the devil…do not play into his hands!

Moe: Checking up on you again… I pray that things will get easier very soon…

Hello,

**I am so sorry for your loss …. was the death suddenly? DO you have other children?
**

The pain was so great, the despair so heavy that I didn’t think I could survive long if I were going to feel that way. Though so much time has passed and I still cry at times (like now), I want you to know that the pain and grief do ease up. Oh it is like we are living in hell … life is so very sad. she truly was perfection on earth … loving, beautiful, talented, kind, just everything parents would want in their children – both of our girls are like that ….**

I usually keep the emotions tucked away–like in a special secret pocket–so that I can continue living and enjoying the life God has given.

**I wish I knew how to do that … it is so sad … and all we can think about is that we are here and she is there … I can’t keep my emotions tucked away … I wish I could 😦 **

But every now and then, they spill out or I take them out to visit. Just reading your post was a choice to take them out and to feel the sorrow all over again. But that’s okay now, because it’s a choice. It doesn’t cripple me as it did at first.

**Oh how Iong for the day when it isn’t crippling … life is not fun and it is so lonely … we are all hurting and we don’t know how to help the other one 😦 but we are there for each other and have a hug or shoulder waiting 😦 **

I just want you to know that it does get better–and I don’t mean to belittle what you’re feeling. I have been there and I just want to encourage you. It sounds like you are doing well.

I have no choice … I have to think of Amanda – but inside I am a wreck and just so lonely without my McKayla.

I shall look into these … I love reading and it has helped … at least know that perhaps one day we will feel joy again … and there will be hope … one book I read which is by far the best yet – is “A Grief Unveileved” by Gregory Floyed … it was awesome and I have underlined poignant things and still go back to reading it every day … awesome book …

May God and His people contunue to bless you and to strengthen and encourage you as you walk through the valley and out again.

**Thank you … so much – My Company of Mourner **
