I really don’t know how to say this, but I’m not free to speak in my home country, so I really hope you’ll understand and pray for me. I DESPERATELY need your prayers, since the Church and fellow believers here are not free to say certain things and thus I’ve felt really ostracized, alone and “homeless” recently (despite having a family house to live in).
I was born in a Muslim country 30 years ago; my family comes from a racial & religious minority, so we’re not Muslims but we used to be very worldly. I was received into the Church 4 years ago. Since the age of 13, I’ve spent most of my time abroad; I graduated from university in the USA and have worked in China for about 3 years. Last year I applied to a certain graduate school in the USA and was accepted, so I had to go back to my home country to apply for a visa. I don’t know why exactly, but I’ve been battling really desperate thoughts upon my return home, and also very very debilitating insomnia, which I’ve never struggled with before. The conditions in my home country are very “dire” and I have no one to talk to. For example:
  1. My home country has recently enacted Sharia law in some places. In other places, the govt is very weak compared to the extremist groups. I cannot talk to any psychologist/psychiatrist/priest or even fellow Christians due to the atmosphere of fear. I feel like I’m being buried alive. My country also has a rather low opinion of women.
  2. Doctors here are IMMUNE from prosecution, even in severe malpractice cases. Patients who complain can be jailed. My symptoms (insomnia, desperate thoughts) are seen as the result of “too much education” and the doctors here often administer powerful tranquilizers (drugs from the 60’s; they don’t have the newer drugs) in very high doses. I feel that I’ve suddenly entered some horror movie.
  3. The former governor of our capital city was recently sentenced to 2 years of jail for “blasphemy”, although he was merely careless while telling a joke and has apologized.
  4. My home country has a lot of m_s with very loud loudspeakers, but if anyone dares complain, lots of buildings belonging to the minority religions will get burned. This happened before. Now every time I hear their prayer call I feel this strange wave of anger and I can’t sleep, but I can’t talk about it to anyone! Everyone is too afraid to talk to me.
  5. As a girl from a racial minority, I cannot go outside unchaperoned. There is no public transportation system and crime rate is high. The police here have very low salaries and cannot be counted on to protect anyone.
I grew up here until the age of 12; I had a very idealistic, patriotic view of my birth country, so it’s hard to reconcile this ideal with what my home has become. I just feel homeless, alone, desperate, with no one to talk to. Even with my faith I feel so scared I’m losing my sanity. I’m so afraid that before school I’ll be hooked on all these dangerous medications and then I won’t do well at school and must live in this place long term (which technically is my home, for I am a citizen here).

SO VERY SCARED for my life and future.

PLEASE PRAY FOR ME!

Hail Mary,
Full of grace,
The Lord is with Thee.
Blessed art Thou amongst women,
and blessed is the fruit of Thy womb,
Jesus
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
Pray for us sinners,
Now and at the hour of death,
Amen

O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fountain of Mercy for us, I trust in You!

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, Amen.

Eternal Father, I offer you the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your Dearly Beloved Son, Our Lord, Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.

For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

Praying for your protection and safety and praying for your anxieties to not overwhelm
you. Praying you will be able to leave your home country soon. Praying for your future.

Praying for you by God’s grace to overcome. Jesus loves you. Be not afraid. For He is with you.
