Sufficient reflection & Full consent of the will vs Being careless

I’m struggling with scrupulosity, and several time I would let something slip or blurt something out, and than worry whether or not there was enough sufficient reflection or full consent of the will involved in those actions. Just this morning I let slip something dishonest and I’m assuming that, that was a venial sin because, Saint Alphonsus said that in regards to a scrupulous person, when one doubts whether or not a sin is mortal, a scrupulous person should assume such a sin is venial.

How does one know the difference between a sin that lacks sufficient reflection and full consent of the will, and mortal sin in which a person is being careless?

Also can anyone give me tips of knowing when one has committed a mortal sin and how form a conscience?

You need to find a spiritual advisor to help you with this issue instead of the internet. If you haven’t already done so, please talk with your Pastor to help you find a good and holy person to be your spiritual advisor.

Be at peace, its like a verbal thought, as long as its not blasphemous. Even then , ask forgiveness.

If you let slip something dishonest, as soon as you realise, correct that slip. That is how we grow. And it can be very hard, and very humbling. Thats good for us , though , right.
