Today is the 20 year anniversary of the suicide of a young woman who’d made solemn vows, then left her community, and within a few months ended her own life. She was suffering greatly from mental illness.

Her death had a profound effect on everyone who knew her, and some are still living with the effects of that devestation.

Please keep Sister J in your prayers today.
Please also pray for those whose lives were damaged by her death, especially those who are still suffering.

You have my prayers for Sr. J and family and friends, Gert.

My heart never fails to go out to those who take their own lives.

Eternal rest grant unto Sr. J, Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her, may be rest in peace. Amen.

Give strength and hope to all those she left behind who may be still thinking that maybe there was something that they could have or should have done to prevent this. Give them the graces to let go of these thoughts and feelings, and replace them with complete trust and confidence in Your Merciful Love. Amen.

God, lover of souls, You hold dear what You have made and spare all things, for they are Yours. Look gently upon Your servant (Sister J), and by the Blood of the corss forgive her sins and failings. Remember the faith of those who mourn and satisfy their longing for that day when all will be made new again in Christ, our risen Lord, who lives and reigns with You forever and ever. Amen.
 
Loving God please heal the anxieties and doubts and any self blame in the hearts of those whom Sister J left behind.

You know and understand Sr J’s spiritual and mental state. Please flood her with faith, repentance and love, at the moment of her death so long ago.
Please at last calm the fears and heal the hurts of her family and her spiritual community.

We praise and thank You for Your merciful love.
