I can’t stop considering it. I don’t know how to stop the thoughts. I don’t want to die, but I don’t see any way out of my situation, or the isolation. I want help, but I can’t see how there’s any way to get it. I have a nightmarish background, and “ordinary” people have always looked at me like there’s something wrong with me, whether they know about it or not. I don’t see how I can ever be accepted or succeed, or be happy.

I’m praying for strength, prayed two rosaries today, but I don’t know how long I can keep this up. I’ve been suicidal, on and off, since last May. I’ve been reading the Bible a lot the last couple of days, praying, and am about to go to Mass. But I’m human, and my spiritual life is so shot from all kinds of things, and I just don’t know how long I can keep going. I feel like something big has got to happen or change, and my hope has long since bled away. I’ve been losing control over the last few years. Debt has piled up, money is running out, and interpersonal problems are spiraling and growing. It’s like the burden just keeps growing heavier, people keep piling things on, yet I’m losing strength, and am so fragile and close to the edge by now. I feel like one more thing might really make me snap.

I just don’t know what else to say.

I have had those thoughts at one time too. I saw no way out of a bad situation just like you. Please google “thinking about suicide” . the 1st thing that pops up is a person with very good insight that wrote a wonderful article just for folks in this situation. It saved me.

PM me if you wish.

OP, you need to speak to a good physician as quickly as possible. Go to an Emergency Room if nothing else.

People who consider suicide usually have a chemical imbalance called Clinical Depression and can be helped considerably by the correct treatment.

Well, I’m still very fragile, but I prayed two more rosaries, and buried myself in the Bible for a while after Mass, so I feel…stitched together…for the moment.

I’m afraid to do much, though, now. To let my attention wander. Like opening a dam that’s still in the process of being built. I’m not quite sure what to do with myself. I’m just praying that God finishes the “dam,” that things get better instead of just sliding down to ruin again.

please try to hang in there shipmate; please don’t do it

Please seek professional help ASAP. There are people who will help you. Praying to St. Dymphna for your health & recovery.

Here’s a number I’d like you to have…suicidepreventionlifeline.org/

Please talk to someone when you feel suicidal, and can you get to a counselor, a psychologist?

A previous post said about going to the ER if nothing else came through, and that’s correct.

Please seek help. You deserve that.

You know I know I’m just some guy from South Carolina but I have had a suicide in my family and it is not something that is easy to deal with and I’ve had the same thoughts you have. The problem with suicide is that it is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. You may send me a private message if you’d like and I ask that you do if you still feel that way.

Keep praying to Our Blessed Mother, especially via the rosary! There are people who love you, and want the best for you! I’ll be praying for you. Talk to a priest as soon as possible!

Get qualified help, OP. Human life is worth it!

God bless and ICXC NIKA.

Eternal God , in whom mercy is endless,
and the treasury of compassion inexhastible ,
look kindly upon us and increase Your mercy in us ,
that in difficult moments we might not despair
nor become despondent , but with great confidence ,
submit ourselves to Your Holy Will ,
which is love and mercy itself . Amen

Memorare (Prayer to Our Lady)
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession, was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your mercy, hear and answer me. Amen

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Prayer to Our Lady of Mental Peace

O Lady of Mental Peace,
Mother of Tranquility
and Mother of Hope,
look upon Lin in this time
of weakness and unrest.

Teach her searching heart
to know that God’s Love
for her is unchanging and
unchangeable, and, that
true human love can only
begin and grow by touching
His Love.

Let your gentle Peace -
which this world cannot give
  • be always with her.
And, help her to bring this
    same Peace into the lives
    of others.
Our Lady of Mental Peace,
  • Pray for us!
    Amen.
Jesus, Help Me!

In every need let me come to You with humble trust,
saying:
Jesus, help me!
In all my doubts, perplexities, and temptations:
Jesus, help me!
In hours of loneliness, weariness and trials:
Jesus, help me!
In the failure of my plans and hopes, in disappointments,
troubles and sorrows:
Jesus, help me!
When others fail me, and Your Grace alone can assist me:
Jesus, help me!
When I throw myself on Your tender Love as Savior:
Jesus, help me!
When my heart is cast down by failure, at seeing no good
come from my efforts:
Jesus, help me!
When I feel impatient, and my cross irritates me:
Jesus, help me!
When I am ill, and my head and hands cannot work and
I am lonely:
Jesus, help me!

Always, always, in spite of weakness, falls and short-
comings of every kind:
Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, help me and never forsake me!

Amen

Please remember that God loves you SO MUCH–more than words could ever express and He would NEVER want you to kill yourself. Even if it were only for you, Jesus would STILL have suffered His greatest of agonies and died for you. In other words, you are much too precious in the eyes of God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit (the One in Three of course–it should go without saying, but it surprised me how many Christians, including Catholics don’t know that about the Holy Trinity.)

No matter what anyone EVER thinks of you, including yourself, just take in a breath, take out a breath and remember how much you are loved and how much God pines to just hold you in His ever-loving, everlasting Hands with such Sweet Divine Love we just cannot fathom it with our limited understanding as human beings.

And of course, I will pray for you.

God will be with you, no matter how dark the night, no matter how confused your soul. Don’t be afraid to reach out to all of us here! Stay strong, for God is with you!
