I would like to know what the Church has to say about someone that takes their own life. Is this person Dammed to hell for all eternity or can he or she be saved by the Grace of God? Do these soles have any chance of entering Purgatory? I pray for the victims of suicide and the soles in Purgatory. Thanks for your time, Gil

We should not despair of the eternal salvation of persons who have taken their own lives. By ways known to him alone, God can provide the opportunity for salutary repentance. The Church prays for persons who have taken their own lives.
