Suitable hymn selections for First Communion on May 11/2008

I welcome suggestions for special hymns for our congregation to sing at First Communion during mass on Sunday.
 
At that First Eucharist
I Received the Living God
Shepherd of Souls
Alleluia, Sing to Jesus
Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence
Draw Us in the Spirits Tether
Panis Angelicus

This is how I would plan it, since, after all, it is also Pentecost Sunday,:

Come, Holy Ghost (Entrance)

Draw Us in the Spirit’s Tether (Offertory)

I Received the Living God (Communion)
Alleluia, Sing to Jesus (Communion)
If you have a lot of First Communicants and then the rest of the Faithful

Then, at the Recessinoal, Go, Make of All Disciples or God, We Praise You (a variation of the Te Deum)
 
I’m not sure how you combine hymns for First Communion with hymns that are also appropriate for Pentecost. Which one takes precedence?

Pentecost. But there’s always a Communion hymn. Benedictgal beat me to the good ones.

Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence could be a good one with a some irony attached since in my recent experience the congregation is so unruly and noisy that they could use a little reminder.

Thanks so much for your replies. I have a lot to practice before that day as I am one of those “wannabe great organists” . I had not played the organ for years and it took me approx. 3-4 years to stop shaking. However, with a lot of practice and perseverence things are getting better all the time. We had no music for a few years as we are a very small parish which consists of many beach people in the summer. The choir consists of one girl with a beautiful voice and the organist. Our congregation is special and we all try our best to make the service special for our Lord.
 
Don’t sweat it. The hymns I suggested actually work very well for congregational/cantor singing. In fact, that is what we had at both the Cathedal and my father’s parish when I had to plan for both. These hymns are very simple. You will also find that Draw Us in the Spirit’s Tether is really easy. All of these are found in the Worship III hymnal and are fantastic with the organ.
