On the contrary, this music has a universal appeal - which is why it has lasted so long. Some of the greatest singers of chant come from a praise and worship/contemporary background. To know and love this music requires nothing like a “classical” background or anything. As for the Simple English Propers, they are so beautiful and exist totally outside the conventional boundaries concerning taste and style. This is liturgical music, not a radio dial. So, come one, come all.
