Sunday School help/input?

This sunday I would like for our thrid grade class of 18 children to sit down and reenact the Last Passover Meal which was The Last Supper. I thought We could have some small cracker snacks and grape juice. Each child would read about one of the diciples that were there. We could read our chapter whlie having our meal. In the chapter it describes everything that happened at the Last Supper. Any suggestions to make it a little more interesting as far as student participation, more interaction with the children? Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!

Just make sure you tie it into the Holy Mass and use this activity to give them a greater understanding of it. Maybe each child could make up some creative conversation that might have taken place. Let us know how it goes!

Might want to check PASSOVER IN THE TIME OF JESUS by Wallace. Apparently, they actually reclined on couches. Instead of crackers, go for matzos or some type of unleavened bread. Also need some lamb and vinegar. Think you’ll have to tie in the story of the Jews fleeing from Egypt with Moses etc. for them to understand Passover.

Does Sunday School take place before or after Mass? If before Mass, make sure you do not have the children eating something at a time that would break their communion fast.
