The following is from the Catechism:

“Traditional activities (sport, restaurants, etc.), and social necessities (public services, etc.), require some people to work on Sundays, but everyone should still take care to set aside sufficient time for leisure.”

I am lifeguarding this summer. I would consider that job to go under a traditional activity that requires some to work. I have to work from noon to 9PM this Sunday. If “everyone should still take care to set aside sufficient time for leisure,” and I don’t have much free time on Sunday, am I avoiding sin if I try to use as much as I can for leisure?

You might need to set some time aside on a day other than Sunday.
The important thing is that you set aside some time during the week to rest and recover.
I take it that you are not scheduled to work seven days in a row.

Matthew 12:11-12

“Suppose one of you has only one sheep and it falls into a pit on the sabbath; will you not lay hold of it and lift it out? How much more valuable is a human being than a sheep! So it is lawful to do good on the sabbath.”

Suppose one of you looks out for many children and they fall into the deep end… etc.
I think you’re safe 🙂
