I take care of people’s pets around my neighborhood to get gas money during the school year. People usually go out of town on weekends and often need me on Sundays. Is this work okay for me to do on Sunday. I do consider it work. I do take money. Obviously, the people can’t just leave there pets without someone to take care of them. Is it okay for me to take money for it?

I think Catholic are prohibited from engaging in “servile labour” on Sundays. I helped my family clear the driveway of snow this morning, though, so I guess I broke that rule. 😦

If you didn’t’ clear the snow it might have frozen and caused a dangerous situation. Shoveling was a necessity. There are many labors that might be necessary on a Sunday and there is no sin in doing them. I work on Sundays and I cannot not work on Sunday since that is part of my job, as it is for many people. God understands.

I agree. You obviously are not forgetting God. And you remember Sunday. God is not gonna count that a sin providing for your family and earning a living or doing a nice deed. However if you can go to mass on a Saturday night there would be nothing wrong with that.

I assume you are joking because that’s a ridiculous statement to make and untrue.
