Sundays during Lent

Sundays during Lent are feast days right? The earliest vigil mass of Sunday begins about 1700 on Saturday…so that means I am free to enjoy beer and a steak Saturday evening 👍.

Don’t get me wrong I am taking lent seriously but sabbath (sunday for christians) was made for man not man for the sabbath 😃
 
You could have a beer and steak on Monday, too. And Tuesday. And Thursday.

Only fast days are today and Fridays.

Your not “obliged” to give up beer or steak etc …(except the steak part on Ash Weds and Fridays and Good Friday…I am assuming your Roman)

One is at liberty to adjust the other penance they take on…at will.

So if one wishes to not give up those things on Sundays…such is your freedom in the Church. And such can be a good approach since Sunday is the Lords Day. (and though liturgically the Mass on Saturday evening is that of Sunday…the Lords Day is Sunday per se…one is not obliged for example to avoid those things that interfere with the joy proper to Sunday…on Sat. evening!..but as I noted …one is free to have beer etc on Sat evening if one wants)

Unless there are some additional “local additions” etc in the UK (each conf. of Bishops can make certain changes for example) … but I doubt seriously if there would be any “step up” …ordinarily it is rather a reduction of what is “obligated” not a “addition”.
