Sundays in Lent

Are we supposed to treat Sundays during Lent as ‘little Easters’ without the sacrifices of the rest of Lent or are we to treat Sundays as part of Lent with all the regular day sacrificing? Is there an official Church stance? I’ve heard both positions staunchly proclaimed by all manner of people, lay and consecrated.

I’ve seen go both ways among different parishes and even among parishoners in a parish. Since the giving up of something isn’t dogmatic, but more like a personal devotion, there is room for how you practice it.
