Sundays when Visiting Family

I have a question about Sunday obligations.

If I am visiting family/friends on a long weekend and it seems rude/untimely to go to Mass, is it a sin? Could I go on a Tuesday or the first available day that is appropriate?
it is inconceivable that any family member who loves you would be offended, or consider it rude, that you and your family go to Church on Sunday, No you could not go on another day and fill your Mass obligation. You cannot seriously consider putting your family’s opinion, even if they are rude enough to criticize you for filling your sacred obligation to God and refusing to endanger your immortal soul, above God’s law.

If you are not yet Catholic, you don’t have an obligation, and understandably, if your family is not happy about your conversion you may have to be careful about your request, but if it is in your power to attend Mass you certainly would be obligated as a Catholic. But if you cannot get to Mass–no safe transporation, illness, caregiver for someone who needs you present, you are a minor and family won’t allow it, for example–you would have no obligation.

forgot to say welcome home.

If you truly wish to come into the Catholic Church the Holy Spirit will show you the way. When you speak to the priest tell him all your concerns, and everything about your family situation, and your personal conflicts. He cannot help you if he does not know all the facts about your specific needs.

Yes, I will. I have the added complication that my husband had a head injury several years ago and I cannot always leave him, especially when we are traveling. Even though he is doing very well, some friends and family would be very uncomfortable if I left him with them. If he doesn’t want to go with me, I might have to miss Mass in a situation like this.

I will talk to the priest should I decide to convert. I would imagine that this would be a reasonable reason to miss Mass. I hope the priest will understand my situation–as I am only trying to do right by loving and caring for my husband.
