I’m sort of starting my own personal supernatural research project. So far the topics that I have to research are:
  • The Shroud of Turin (Sindonology)
  • The Incorruptables (such as the incorruptable body of St. Bernadette)
  • The Miricals of Lourdes France
  • The Image of Our Lady at Guadallupe
  • Mariam Aparitions (such as the one at Fatima, Egypt)
  • Eucharistic Miricals
  • Ghost hauntings (such as my local “Coon Hill”)
  • Ouji boards (though I wont personally use one. Ever.)
  • Demonic Posession
  • Near Death Experiences (NDE’s)
  • DMT (the “spirit molechule”)
If you have any other ideas that contribute or relate to the list then please don’t hesitate to recommend them to me. 🙂 New topic suggestions, subjects relating to these topics, articles and other sources of information would also be helpful. Thank you, CAF, and God bless you all… <3

Oh yeah, also:
  • The Healing Miricals as the result of prayers by a man of the name Dr. Isaam Nemeh
  • Theories on the influence consciousness has on reality

Do you mind if I ask what the purpose behind this is? Is is general curiosity, or a book or what?

As for other areas of research, I’ve always been a fan of cryptids myself, but they aren’t really supernatural in nature… usually.

It really depends on how the research turns out whether it’ll be a book or not. My objective is to study supernatural phenomena and see what information can be drawn from it and see if a better universal understanding can’t be mapped out. And thank you for the suggestion 🙂

I can’t think of any other subjects at the moment, but your project sounds fascinating. Maybe mediums? There is a new medium show that airs on TLC, and apparently she’s popular because she has a two year waiting list.

–Out of body experience generally

(this is a “superset” of the near death experience, in that the person is ostensibly having experiences without his or her body; but may not be nearly dead).

What is a cryptid?

What is a cryptid?
Some examples: the Yeti / Sasquatch, Loch Ness Monster, Chupacabra and the Mothman. I doubt any of those actually exist, but the mystery of them is fun 😛

I’m interested in your project. I’ve always been into this sort of stuff, for fun mainly. Let me know how it goes.

Yeah, I read that OBEs are usually mistook as NDEs.

And, indeed, the OOBnik may be frightened to first see their body without their mind inside, believing themself to be dead.

However, NDE is only a subset of OOB.

We should not seek to go OOB (also called “travelling clairvoyance”) for the same reasons we are to avoid other forms of clairvoyance; but God could allow someone to experience it.

Don’t forget studies of mystics! Brain scans and the like, ya know. They say that Christian mystics are different in that their brains show that they’re super-present in the moment and spatially aware, whereas mystics such as Buddhists are more “dissolved” into their surroundings.

Don’t forget about the Eucharistic Miracle of Lanciano.
