In the comments section, there is a discussion about the types of surplices and their designs with symbolisms and rankings. Anybody there who could shed some light?

Heres the Link:

This would appear to bne an issue particular to the Phillpines. Most of the posters are from the US.

In the 50’s and early 60’s, when I was an altar server, surpluses were white, period, No markings.

In the past few years where I have attended Mass at our local Cathedral, the Master of Ceremonies ( a distant relative and a priest) wore a white surplus, no markings; and deacons and priests wore an alb and stole (appropriate for their station).

Which is not much help.

It just another over the top website, that’s all. They seem to have appointed themselves liturgy police for the Phillipines.

“Stop communion in the hand” and “Liturgy Watch” banners and warnings that “Our Parishoners are watching to report any suspicious liturgical activity.”

Nothing really to see at that website. Its mostly complaining.
