Coleman Refuses To Include Women In Lenten Tradition 03-25-2005 7:22 AM
(Fall River, MA) – Fall River Bishop George Coleman is refusing to extend a Lenten tradition to women. During Holy Thursday services, the feet of men are washed, a rite that Boston Archbishop Sean O’Malley opened to women this year. O’Malley was criticized last year for not changing with the times. But, Coleman refused to follow suit during services in Fall River last night. A spokesman for Coleman says the bishop interprets the liturgy in a different way.
Let’s support Bishop George Coleman Of the Diocese of Fall River, MA for holding to church tadition. We are very quick to criticize our clergy when the don’t show backbone, let’s applaud them when they do.:clapping:
