Support Eden Foods

Eden foods is coming under a lot of fire for the fact that they refuse to cover contraception. Their facebook page is full of hateful comments. Therefore, I liked the page and I fully intend to support the company from now on.

I urge everyone else to stand up and support Eden Foods and their religious freedom. Let’s turn the tide of awful comments on that facebook page and show Eden foods that they have suppoort.

I don’t do facebook, but because the pages are public I’ve seen some.
Check out Hobby Lobby’s page too.
Some of the comments on there were overt threats against the chain and it’s owners.

Ouch! Just checked out the page. It is terrible that they are being slammed so badly for standing by their beliefs.
It seems Christians are being persecuted from all sides.

someone posted this on their FB page and I posted that the Supreme Court made the right decision. I’m being attacked from all sides and just have no way to defend myself. Interesting how mean they get instead of dealing with the issue.

A lot of people balk at the comparison I make between believing in same-sex “marriage” and believing in a four-sided triangle, but then you just have to look at the hordes of irrational people like this who think that not paying for something for somebody is somehow forcing them not to have it, as if they weren’t free to go to the local drug store now.

That’s how they roll. I suspect that the reason more people aren’t defending Eden Foods publically is because they know they will be attacked the way you are.

Is this posted on Eden Foods facebook page? If so, maybe it will lead them here to learn something? One can always hope.

If I had a facebook I would point out that all the people complaining and threatening to boycott are, on the one hand, supposedly concerned about a natural and healthy diet (thus why they shop for ‘organic’ at Eden), but on the other, griping because the company won’t provide a synthetic hormone that upsets the natural function of the body.

From what I read on one of their July 3rd posts, they did say “We were convinced that actions of the federal government were illegal, and so filed a formal objection.” They didn’t mention anything about religion, yet some people just assume it has everything to do with religion.

From what I read on one of their July 3rd posts, they did say “We were convinced that actions of the federal government were illegal, and so filed a formal objection.” They didn’t mention anything about religion, yet some people just assume it has everything to do with religion.

Yes, it was about the owners religion. He had been offering his employees health insurance without contraceptive coverage long before the ACA and wanted to continue to offer the same type of coverage.

“For years, Michael Potter, a Roman Catholic, President and sole shareholder of Eden Foods Corporation, for religious reasons, had arranged for the Blue Cross/Blue Shield insurance coverage he designed for his employees to specifically exclude coverage for contraception and abortifacients,” said a statement released by the center this week.

“In accordance with his Catholic faith, Potter believes that any action which either before, at the moment of, or after sexual intercourse, is specifically intended to prevent procreation, whether as an end or means — including abortifacients and contraception — is wrong.”

“The [Health and Human Services] Mandate forced Potter to make a choice between violating a foremost tenet of his faith or face fines up to $4.5 million per year. Potter brought the lawsuit because he cannot compartmentalize his faith and his business practices.”

I really don’t understand how so many are equating this ruling with a corporation pushing it’s religious beliefs on others. Actually, Eden Foods is simply following their own religious beliefs by not taking part in sin. ABC is still available to the employees, they simply have to buy it on their own dime. And Eden Foods is not telling its employees they can’t have Birth Control.
Seems to me that those complaining are trying to push their non-beliefs on to others, by demanding they take part in a practice that they find objectionable.
How does this get so twisted up in people’s minds?
It is also my understanding that Eden Foods has never provided for ABC in it’s health plan, but were going to be forced to under the new Obamacare laws.

It appears that those pointing their fingers have many pointing back at them.

I love their products, especially because they (as far as I know) were pretty much the first company to have cans that are BPA free. I just went to my local Nature’s Fare and bought even more than I normally would!

P.S. For anyone who doesn’t already know, their prepared Mexican rice and beans is a quick, nutritious and complete meal when you’ve had “one of those days”. I like to add spinach and sprinkle grated cheese on top. It is also awesome in a burrito.

They equating it because they’ve found over the years that it’s useful to scream ‘anti-woman’ really loud to get what they want. Never mind if it makes any sense at all. Some people might consider it anti-woman to insist that women put chemicals in their body rather than a man using a condom.

What is particularly laughable is their claim that Eden Foods (or anyone else who doesn’t hand out free birth control) is 'trying to control women’s health care choices." 1, birth control is not health care, but 2, more importantly, nobody is trying to control anything. Women are quite free to walk down to the pharmacy and buy it themselves. Nobody is trying to stop them.
