Hamas is the elected leadership of the Palestinians; and it has sworn to fight for the elimination of Israel.

To distinguish Hamas from Palestinian is about as useful as, in 1942, distinguishing Nazi from German. (Yes, I know, Godwin’s Law…) Such a distinction is useless as long as the leadership continues fighting.

ICXC NIKA
  1. 60-70% of Palestinians don’t live in Gaza. Therefore, to claim that they are the representatives is wrong.
  2. Fatah ruined the Palestinians with all the corruption. Just like how Americans don’t pick their presidents based JUST on foreign policies, neither do the Palestinians. Remember that most of the structures in Gaza were built by Hamas. Hamas may be a terrorist group, but they’re much better than Fatah in that sector
  3. ‘Those who make a peaceful revolution impossible, will make a violent revolution inevitable’ Israel has already killed tonnes of people during the Intifada, and is currently holding over 1200 children just for throwing rocks who live in the harshest of conditions.

We live in the world, there are few of us called to be Amish or hermits, and even they do not live with no help from the world. About Christ supporting Israel, would He support Israel’s foes? You know, the ones that what ALL Isrealis (Jew, Mosalom, and Christian) dead.
Thats the problem we, too many think they know better than Christ so they take His teachings and cherry pick. Thats why the world is a mess because His teachings have not been fully applied.
Love thy enemy. Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called children of God etc…etc…
Everyone wants Him to return, considering what has been done to His beautiful teachings and message I wouldnt be in a hurry if I were them.

If Israel gives up land to make peace it will only be temporary. The Muslims will continue until Israel is wiped off the map and all the Jews are dead. If Israel lays down their arms then their would be no more Israel, if the Muslims lay down their arms there will be no more War…

If you are in favor of supporting Palestine then you are in favor of supporting genocide because that is the goal of Palestinian Muslims (Including all the Muslims surrounding Israel). Of course the Israeli’s are a secular country and have abortion with all other forms of immorality. I personally support Israel but only because the Muslims want to massacre all the Jews and the Jews have a right to be there (Not because they are Holy or anything).

When the state of Israel was re-established after world war 2 all the Muslims were disgusted that the Jews were flocking to it and all the Muslims left. After the nation started prospering greatly the Muslims got extremely jealous and vowed to wipe them off the map. Also the Koran mentions Israel and basically says it belongs to Muhammad so they will fight for it, forever… These Muslims are crazy and you should be very careful when listening to the media outlets concerning this issue. The Muslim terrorist will go into school yards and fire rockets into Israel and when Israel blows them up CNN and the other liberal media outlets only report that the Israels are killing innocent people… They fail to mention the crazy Muslims in the school yard firing rockets daily at Israel.

Not to mention the persecution of the Palestinian Christians by the Palestinian Muslims. If you say allah is a false prophet in Palestine then you will surely get persecuted. If you say Christianity is the only true religion then you might lose your head. (Unless your part of the secular/liberal media who always sides with Islam and reports biasedly that Israel murders innocent Palestinians. Then they will probably cheer you one, lol).

Azygos,

I’m sorry mate, i can’t allow you to say that my many friends in Palestine want to kill anything let alone the genocide of a people. You ought to be ashamed of yourself!! i will pray for you.

Every single thing you have just said is literally madness and lies, please try again and think less emotionally about the conflict. Ask question from both sides and ignore the extreme propaganda from both sides.

Your conspiracy theory is as credible as the one about Jews wanting to take take over the world, an bring about the anti-Christ. my my!! how strange the world is when good intelligent people are so easily led astray. Consider this, would it not be better if both sides stopped being bad. My friend, support peace not war. Palestinians and Israelis are victims and suffer greatly and we sit comfortably in arrogance choosing as if it were some game.

I urge you to think my fellow. many lives have been lost on the kind of words you’ve written.

Dan.

Sorry, I’m new, so I apologise if I wrote this in the improper section or if it was previously answered. From what I could tell, the subject hasn’t been talked about enough, and this seems to be the appropriate section. Then again, I’m the paranoid type…

So, I recently had this conversation with a couple people online and from here and there. From what I could tell, there is a huge amount of Christians support Israel. This is where the questions flood.

Are we, as Christians, religiously forced to support the state of Israel or the establishment of a Jewish homeland? I mean,** I cannot imagine God would tell us that it’s OK to murder people and exile them all in the sake of getting people who used to live there a couple thousand years ago a home there. **Don’t get me wrong, both the Israelis and the Palestinians have committed wrong-doings, but remember that these aren’t two equal sides; Occupier, and occupied. Israel is the nation with nuclear weapons and such, so why should the people fighting for self-determination with rocks be judged to cruelly?

I, personally, am a pacifist. I believe that everything can be solved through non-violence, however in this case. I can’t deny the acts of the Palestinians. It is all done with righteousness in mind. Please note that I am not referring to the acts of Hamas or the PLO but rather the TRUE Palestinians who are living in Gaza and the West Banks. The people who day by day struggle to survive, let alone get a loaf of bread. If you just flip at a random page of the New Testament you will undoubtedly find one of Christ’s words that contradict with what Israel is doing. So why do a lot of people support it?

This issue is pretty serious. It has caused a huge amount of problems in the middle-east. It became so well-intergrated into the minds of Arabs and Jews alike that it’s basically part of their culture now. Also, a lot of people seem to call me an anti-semite if I say anything against Israel (most of whom are Christians) why must people confuse anti-zionism with anti-semitism? I would find it quite difficult to believe that what is going on in Israel and Palestine right now could be remotely called justice. Yet people support Israel. I simply am unable to fathom it. If Christ told us to support what Israel is doing then basically all his teachings become moot because Israel violated most of them.

What is your opinion on the subject? I would be glad to hear them. Thanks for listening!
This is an age old problem. In the past one had to ask why should Jews be allowed to murder little Christian children to use in their rituals and in making matzah? One had to ask why it was tolerated to allow Jews to desecrate the Eucharist? Why were Jews allowed to undermine Christianity, poison wells, spread the plague?

As you point out the Jews are at it again. Now they are carrying out a genocide against the poor people who have lived there from time immemorial, they are stealing their land and forcing them into exile, starving them to death, enclosing them into concentration camps, creating an apartheid State that combines the worst aspects of Nazi Germany with white South Africa. This being the case you naturally ask, how can any Catholic possibly be a supporter of Israel? As you point out the whole essence of the Jewish State is an affront to Christianity.

Yet despite the fact that, as you stated, every Christian should support the elimination of the Jewish State (as should all pacifists like yourself), remarkably we see that the Vatican has full diplomatic relations with Israel and as you stated, many Catholics ardently support Israel. You correctly ask how can they be so morally confused?

It should be your job to try and set these Zionist Jew lovers straight. You should learn their ridiculous claims based on facts and logic so that you can counter them with irrefutable nonsense and falsehoods which will them soon have them singing for the annihilation of the Jewish State “from the river to the sea Palestine will be free”!

one certainly gets the impression that if any place in the world can be called unholy, it is the holy land

That’s Hamas. Not the Palestinians. Confusing the two is a grave mistake.

Either way, Hamas rockets only usually end up in the middle of the road in the Negev with 0-4 casualties, whilst one Israeli bombing ends up with 46 casualties. Last time they entered Gaza they bombed the refugee buildings and killed all the children.
Okay, admittedly firing thousands of rockets from built up areas against Israeli population centers for the declared purpose of terrorizing the population, is, as has been correctly pointed out by human rights organizations, a crime against humanity. However, as you stated, regretfully, due to Israel having developed the most advanced defensive technology in the world against these rocket attacks and because Israel actually cares about and invested in the protection of their citizens, “only” six Israelis were killed. Presumably, it would take at least sixty dead Jewish men, women and children before anyone could even begin to engender sympathy or justify Israel defending herself.

I can also appreciate that Palestinian Arabs who belong to Hamas, or Islamic Jihad or the Palestine Authority or who voted for these groups or attend and support them are not actually Palestinian Arabs and do not represent Palestinian Arabs and therefore their actions in no way reflect on Palestinian Arabs. In this way, no matter what actions are done by Palestinian Arabs you can always say “no” it was just their leadership or the fact that their kids were trained from kindergarten to blow themselves up for the betterment of mankind.

I on the other hand, as an Israeli Jew,still have to defend myself concerning my part in the death of the Christian leader and Bernie Madoff.

We have the inevitable force of God and the eternal covenant with the Jewish people

We have a country with the greatest moral, legal and historical right of existence

We have a country with a population of one tenth of one per cent of the world’s population which contributes so massively and disproportionately for the benefit of all mankind in the fields of science and technology and medicine and agriculture and green technology

We have a country with the greatest economic growth of all the western developed economies in the world, a country with a mix of private and socialized medicine that other countries can only dream of, a country with the second highest male life expectancy in the world, a country with the highest cancer survival rate in the world, a country with per capita rates of scientific publications, of patents, of doctors and scientists, of start ups that other countries can only envy.

And against this little tiny country, which is roughly the size of the State of New Jersey, which sits on about one per cent of the land of the Middle East, we have this disparate group whose single unifying factor is their maniacal hatred of the Jews and the Jewish State.

Pick out a wall in the room you’re sitting in and put your thumb right in the middle of that wall. Your thumb is Israel and the rest of the wall is Arab. Why can’t Israel have a tiny peice of land to call home?

Lost and Found,

The thumb doesn’t belong in the wall, its home is on the body. If anything, all that has really happened is an attack on the wall which will only produce cracks in the rest of the wall. Whats the expression “sticking out like a sore thumb” now its a sore thumb in a wall.

Israel is seen as a foreign element which has only sought conflict with other cultures in the middle east and thus is also categorised as hostile. I don’t really see many examples of Israel desiring peace, to be honest. They may say they have given “generous offers” but its clear the government there has no interest in living peacefully next to the Palestinians or any other nation in the middle east.

(could we please stop blanketing the middle east as Arab, the are many ethnicity’s in the region, of which Arab is one among many)

God Bless,

Dan.

“The Arab States do not want to solve the refugee problem. They want to keep it as an open sore, as an affront to the United Nations and as a weapon against Israel. Arab leaders don’t give a damn whether the refugees live or die.”
