thats my question. I heard they were supporting gay and lesbian agendas so I wasn’t sure if as Catholics we are obligated to not eat there.
It depends on how “supporting sin” is defined, as well. Buy clothes made in countries which support oppressive child labor could be defined as sinful, at one extreme. Buying a car from a company that gives same-sex partner benefits could as well.Well, I don’t eat there simply because the food is awful. But to be serious, yes, we are obligated to not support a business that supports sin. However, you might want to make sure that what you heard was accurate.
Meh, they payed for our World Youth Day… so it’s not all bad I guess.thats my question. I heard they were supporting gay and lesbian agendas so I wasn’t sure if as Catholics we are obligated to not eat there.
Asked in all sincerity: Where do you get your prescriptions filled? There isn’t a drug store in the country that doesn’t dispense birth control pills or sell condoms. There are probably virtually none who don’t dispense the “morning after” pill either.Well, I don’t eat there simply because the food is awful. But to be serious, yes, we are obligated to not support a business that supports sin. I personally don’t get perscriptions filled; I haven’t been sick in years. We are called to not support these things as much as we can help it. So of course, if every single drug store in the world sold contraceptives, it would be morally acceptable to buy medicine at one of them, as you have no choice. However, there are certainly alternatives to McDonalds. Therefore, if they truly do support sinful behavior, it is immoral to financially support them (by eating there).Asked in all sincerity: Where do you get your prescriptions filled? I had no idea. How is Steak and Shake?Well, what you heard IS true! And not only have they chosen to support homosexuality, but they said that those who don’t are bigots! I choose not to take my kids there! There are many many business out there who support things we do not! But I believe McDonalds crossed the line. There is an “official” boycott of them for this reason. I choose to support that boycott. Is it sinful to eat there??? Guess I’m not taking any chances!![]()
Arby’s is delicious!Haven’t heard anything about Steak and Shake, but Arby’s is a “no no” too for having racey commercials. Two- really bad ones- have been blocked by most television stations in the US, but they are played elsewhere! REALLY bad! One has teacher doing strip-tease on desk in front of boy students! So- none of my money will be going to support that!![]()
I’d like to hear from Ronald too, but I think he got himself banned.I believe that the Hamburglar is a member of CAF, and I’d like to get his views on this issue.

I dont think they will either… Maccas just helped pay for WYD Sydney 2008…Also, if your conscience tells you it is wrong, then listen to your conscience. At the same time, however, (and I’ve not saying that anyone is doing this, so please don’t get defensive) it would be wrong to point fingers at others who don’t feel the same way,** on the grounds that the Church has NOT to my knowledge infallibly made an ex-cathedra declaration that we must boycott McDonalds.**
