Yes, and my second paragraph went like this:

Let the Church do what it does and who it does it for, and let the State do what it does and who it does it for. Neither agree!!!

As I previously stated several times in the thread. I don’t believe Mcdonalds as a Corporation, gives a **** about “Gay Pride” and neither did they really give a **** about helping pay to put on our “World Youth Day” and our Papal Visit.

What they do give a **** about is … $$$$$$$$$!!!

And if they can get it by being seen to “support a cause”(literally ANY cause) they will.

Don’t eat there, but no real need to think about “boycottting”. If you “Boycott” Maccas for not being Moral, may as well also boycott Nike for paying people $1 a day to produce $100 shoes, and the many other secular corporations of the world.

You’re most likely right about them only doing it for the money.

If anything I’d say don’t eat there because of the disgusting food.

As for boycotting, I agree about Nike, and I think there’s companies doing more actual harm that deserve to be focused on.

Yeah, we know businesses do stuff like this for money. It doesn’t matter why they do it though; what’s important is the fact that they *do *it. And of course what they “give a **** about” is money; that’s what a business is for! Businesses don’t exist to make a happier tomorrow.

What’s immoral about paying someone $1 a day?

If you cannot post without using fake profanity, don’t post. You fake profanity is still quite rude and does not belong in a sensible conversation. It detract from your credibility.

As for the content, you are clearly wrong. McDonalds does care because they are spending money promoting homosexual marriage. Therefore the premise of your crude and offensively worded posts is false.

All Feste did was quote…

The point is that corporations sometimes spent money to show support of thing in an effort to imporve their image (thereby increasing sales) even when they don’t care at all about the thing they are supporting.

Edit: 2000th post! :extrahappy:

Um… are you selectively reading this thread? I was using the words of the previous poster; perhaps you didn’t notice the quotation marks? I agree with you that something like that doesn’t belong in a mature conversation- that was the second purpose of my quotation marks.

As Caesar517 said, McDonalds and any other business that shows support of some movement or group are doing it because they want to make more money! They believe that people will be more inclined to buy their products if they show how they “care”. It is nothing more than a pull for publicity.

By the way, congratulations, Caesar517!

Well, I don’t eat there simply because the food is awful. 😃 But to be serious, yes, we are obligated to not support a business that supports sin. However, you might want to make sure that what you heard was accurate.
Sure. They support sodomy and obesity, two big evils. But dang, the food’s tasty! For reasons of health better avoid such food.

I remember the same thing happened to Jaguar in the US after some faithful Americans learned that Jaguar supported something gay somewhere. Now, then Jaguar was under Ford.

I don’t believe that buying food at McDonald’s would be sinful, since this would be too remotely connected with their support for the gay agenda. It would have better to ask if it would be a good idea not to buy food there, which I believe is true. There are plenty of similar places if your children or yourself would like the sort of food McDojnald’s sells, so going elsewhere presents no particular difficulty.

I apologise.

I disagree with the second point you make. I do not believe Mcdonalds cares about this at all(I’m not sure what they actually care about except the Money), but I guess that’s my personal opinion.
