It’s difficult. As vera dicere said, I make an effort to avoid products from companies that support things like abortion or homosexual groups. I check websites like the one above to help determine which products I buy and which charities I give to.
Sometimes it’s difficult. I’ll admit that I’ll grab some McDonald’s even though they are a pro-homosexual company. Another example is my wife purchased “One A Day Womens” vitamins, which gives a portion of the money to Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Fund, who in turn funds abortion. Those were the best vitamins for her, because another brand made her feel sick. Or the same reason I don’t give my money to United Way when everyone at work is pushing it, because among the groups they give to are groups that support abortions.
In the end we are responsible to act when we can and to act prudently. We are responsible for not directly funding things like abortion. However, we aren’t responsible for what others do with our money, the government, or any company, or organization.
Again, more power to you if you refrain from purchases because the company you are purchasing from uses their profits in a manner that you don’t agree with, but by no means are we responsible for their actions.
