Have any of you guys ever heard about this girl akiane who says she was inspired by god and paints things of the virgin mary and jesus? People seem to think shes a prophet. Check her out at www.artakiane.com

Well, I dunno if she is a prophet but she certainly has some beautiful peices of art which are most certainly inspired by her love for God…same for her poetry. My own ten year old daughter makes pictures (not of the same quality granted) of Jesus, the saints, biblical scenes out of her love for God too and it is beautiful to see any child do such. As far as her visions, who am I to say whether or not God talks to her in dreams? Greater people than me would be better at making that determination I suppose. She is certainly a very talented and devout little girl though and role model, her responses in the FAQ were very mature and seemed heartfelt. 🙂

Her art is gorgeous, but it isn’t exactly Christian. And she’s showing pride by going on a talk show and showing a self-portrait. Certainly there’s nothing wrong with self-portraits, but when you use it for popularity or to show how good of an artist you are, than that is self-love, which is another name for the sin of pride. I doubt she’s a prophet.

Technical ability: great, especially considering her age. The paintings themselves: complete kitsch.

How does a kid go from being talented to being a prophet? I don’t get the connection.

Add to that: A ‘prophet’ who makes money out of it.
Don’t forget, she never gave herself that title. And because of her dreams of God at age 4 her atheist mother began to believe God was real and then became a Christian.

As far as her books and art are concerned, she has donated anywhere from 80 to 90% of her proceeds to charities. If she has a talent that can do that much good, then why not?

Her painting “Hope” was sold at auction for 200 thousand and every penny went to a children’s charity. BTW, she was 9 when she painted it.

Well, I find her paintings overly sweet, but I won’t deny she has great talent.

She has a lot of talent and I am glad that she is putting it to use to praise God. :)I don’t know why she would be considered a prophet though.

People supoosedly think she is a prophet because she says her poetry are messages from God. That she doesnt even put effort into it.

I hadn’t read her poetry just looked at her art work.

Maybe she will be led to the Catholic Church.

One thing that stuck with me years ago when I first heard her story is how religion was not allowed in that home. Her mother was an Atheist, her father raised Catholic but left the church, they chose to raise their daughter in a totally secular environment. There was never any mention of “God”. She was isolated from Christian beliefs.

She was just 4 years old she began telling her mom that she met God and he took her to heaven. She told her about the angels and all the things she sees in her dreams. I believe God used her to get to her mother.

So no matter what one thinks of her art, I take this from her story…** If GOD wants in, you can’t lock Him out! ** 👍
