Where are we in supplying homes for the babies, baby sitting for the baby while mother either finds a job or perhaps goes back to school. On the contrary, pro-lifers do more than anybody else to support women who choose life. We support the local crisis pregnancy center and our parish regularly collects surplus “baby stuff” to give to needy moms. Who else does this? Anybody? WE ( pro-life rep. Henry Hyde) fought and finally won federal tax credits for families that accept the enormous financial burden of seeking to adopt (easily $10,000+ due to amazing government red tape burdens). Come to my parish some Sunday and look at the rainbow of colors among the kids in the pews - international adoptions and foster parents. Who else has established Elizabeth Ministries that help ALL forms of new moms adjust after childbirth?

“Forgotten the mother” based on what? I disagree.

What do you mean by ‘supplying homes’? Should we give every pregnant woman a home? This goes completely against subsidiary, although we could afford to if we didn’t have an abortion industry.

If the billions of dollars given to Planned Parenthood to kill babies were spent helping women, both women and society would be far better served.

Look, I was a single mother before there were all these wonderful programs in place. I did not have an education and I supported my daughter with no help from government, so I know how hard it is. There are so many programs in place now, there are resources for those with addiction issues to get an education and have childcare paid for. There are pregnancy centers, maternity homes and mentoring available. I have yet to meet a pro-choice person helping women who choose to keep their babies. The last baby I tried to save, three couples emailed me begging to let them adopt the child. This was just word of mouth asking for prayers.

I volunteer at two different maternity homes, assist the homeless in our area and sponsor in a 12step program for women. I meet these women where they are, without judgment and try to do these things in Love. There are many others like me, involved, helping. Please don’t discount their efforts.

Thank you, St.Francis. Your answer is exactly how I would have put it. It is a tired old line, and it’s meant to detract from the real issue - killing humans when they are the most defenseless. How any person who calls themselves “Christian” could support this and then look Christ in the face is beyond my understanding.

For those who believe in stare decisis is an ‘inexorable command’, there is plenty of precedent ] for the fact that there is no such thing as “settled law”. Was Dred Scott “settled law”? Was Plessy v. Ferguson “settled law”?

Like so many other postulates on the Left, “settled law” is a myth.
