I didn’t say all guys. I am talking about when you see a couple who is mismatched in their looks- a very good looking guy with an ugly girl, or the other way around. I’m not saying men are oblivious to character.

Personally, I think most really good looking guys are boring. They expect women to just fall down at their feet, whereas a more average looking guy may have taken more time to develop his “charming skills.” Just my experience.
 
hahaha, this is kind of silly. I kind of thought it was common knowledge! Although, the age old question of “what is beauty?” comes in to play. People are attracted to different types of people. There isn’t really any such thing as “ugly” or “pretty” just…types 😃 Just like with the seasons, every human is beautiful in different ways.

I agree with you. Unfortunately, we lose our human dignity (and become little more than glorified apes) the minute we start divvying people up into “good-looking enough for me” and “not good-looking enough for me”. No point in taking mammal behavior and trying to pass it off as God-like (God made everything, but not everything was made in His image).

The day before yesterday, I payed a visit to my father, who’s a painter and sculptor and what else isn’t he. 😉 So, he said women who were very pretty could become very ugly if they wanted, over the course of just a couple seconds. It must be a matter of how a woman wants to be perceived.
 
This is an interesting discussion. As much as I may find certain actresses attractive (My wife can’t believe I like Heather Locklear), I could not imagine marrying such a person. Part of what attracted me to my wife, who is even prettier as we approach 20 years of wedded bliss, is that she reminds me of Myrna Loy, my all-time favorite. Sometimes, guys are attracted to personality over looks, especially for long-term arrangements.
